Mediterranean (969-1375 AD)<\/a>\u2018 (PI: Adrian Pirtea) at the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.oeaw.ac.at\/en\/imafo\/home\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Institute for Medieval Research (IMAFO) of the Austrian Academy of Sciences<\/a>&nbsp;in Vienna. He previously held fellowships and positions at the University of Florence, University of Oxford (British Academy Newton International Fellowship), Ghent University, Goethe-Universit\u00e4t Frankfurt, and the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">He currently teaches Coptic at the University of Vienna in the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/ucrisportal.univie.ac.at\/en\/organisations\/institut-f%C3%BCr-%C3%A4gyptologie\">Department of Egyptology<\/a>, and is co-editor of the book series <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.brepols.net\/series\/eccic\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Eastern Christian Cultures in Contact<\/a><\/em> (Brepols).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Andy and Dan have previously collaborated in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.academia.edu\/99456900\/Ignatius_of_Antioch_in_Translation_New_Findings_in_Syriac_Armenian_Georgian_and_Slavonic_Le_Mus%C3%A9on_136_1_2_2023_\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">preliminary stages<\/a> of the project, for the <a href=\"https:\/\/genaut.univie.ac.at\/?p=1100\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">project description<\/a>, and in the long run for the <a href=\"https:\/\/tetra.univie.ac.at\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">TeTra | Text and Transmission Research Seminar<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Starting on August 1st, Andy is the first postdoc to join the GenAut team; he will be working mainly on the Armenian side of the project.
